In a bizarre partnership that breaks conventional expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and fearsome changes reverberate through the shadows." The plot introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.

The mission concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses

The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Extra Material

Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

This update also brings the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

Earlier Japanese Animation Crossovers

This represents scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime franchises. The series earlier showcased a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla subtly featured a quest that obviously referenced the popular series One-Punch Man.
